RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools offers gratitude for Agnes DeJong from Christ The King Academy and best wishes on her upcoming retirement. Congratulations to Agnes DeJong who will be retiring from Christ The King Academy at the end of this school year. CTR would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Agnes for her years of service to the division! We pray the next chapter of your life is filled with many blessings! Agnes stated, “It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve as Educational Assistant in Brooks for the past 22 years. The time I have spent with students, seeing their learning and growth, has been my greatest joy. I extend my gratitude and love to all the colleagues I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years. You will always be in my prayers and in my heart. I look forward to spending time travelling with my husband John and visiting our children and 16 beautiful grandchildren. ” The principal of Christ The King Academy Cindy Freimark shared, “Aggie has been a foundational part of Catholic education in Brooks. Aggie radiates the Holy Spirit in her words and interactions. Her passion for student success and commitment to our schools has been deeply appreciated. We are honored that Aggie and her family have been a part of our community, and we wish her well in the next chapter of her life.“
CTK Students will be taking a mental health break on Friday, June 11, with their homeroom classes. A permission slip must be filled out on School Cash Online to communicate student safety and plans with guardians. If this form is not completed, students will not participate and must remain at the school.
*We plan to ensure every student writing an exam is distanced from all other students by two metres. This way, if there is a positive COVID case during exams, we will be able to assert to Alberta Health Services contact tracers that the students here were two metres away from the positive case and not interacting and, therefore, not close contacts. *Students requiring supervised study locations on campus in the morning or afternoon will be accommodated in multiple rooms allowing for two metres of physical distancing. *Grade 7 students write their exams in the mornings from 9-11:00. *Grade 8 students will write their exams in the afternoons from 1:15-3:15. *On a final note, for all the reasons mentioned, on Thursday, June 3rd, Christ The Redeemer’s Board of Trustees voted to change the last day of school from Monday, June 28th to Friday, June 25th.

Congratulations to our May Virtue winners: 1) Meghan - For trying her very best and persevering in Math. 2) Alyssa - For welcoming a new student in her class and making them feel at home.
Grade 5 and 6 Parents As the end of the year approaches, Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools is minimizing the risk associated with being identified as a close contact and potentially having to isolate for a long period in early July. We are increasingly becoming aware that families are as worried about their children being required to self-isolate as they are about COVID itself. Both are significant concerns. * The last day of school from Monday, June 28th to Friday, June 25th. * All teachers will complete their final grading by Friday, June 18th to support the parents/guardians of Grade K to 6 students who opt to not have their children attend the last week of school. Normal instruction and year-end activities will continue during the last week of school (June 21-25), but final grading for report cards will be complete by Friday, June 18th.
