On Thursday, November 10th at 11:00 am, students and staff at St.Luke's, SJC, CTK, and HFA will join together to remember those who have served our country and those who continue to serve today. We remember their service and sacrifice so that we can live in a free and peaceful country. All 4 schools will join together in the SJC Gymnasium. A reminder that on Remembrance Day, Friday, November 11, 2022, there will be NO SCHOOL.
The Grade 7 girls team played in the Bassano tournament on Saturday and won 1st place! The team finished first in round robin games against Bassano, Berry Creek, and two BJHS teams. After finishing in a tie with Berry Creek earlier in the day, they played Berry Creek School again In the championship. Coach Sarmiento said "The girls worked so hard and played the best game of their season, leading to two straight set wins 25-16 and 25-10!" CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The grade 8 volleyball team placed second in their Strathmore Tournament this past weekend.! Coach Cockerill and Coach Pickett reported “The whole team played really well and fought hard in the playoff games!” Way to go girls!
To conclude the Classroom Chemistry unit, Miss Pickett's Grade 5 Scientists did the elephant toothpaste experiment. The best part was the surprise guest, Constable Bacon, who joined the students! The results were conclusive - fun and learning!
This years Parent Teacher Interviews are quickly approaching! If you are interested in meeting with your child's teacher, you can now book using the Parent Portal on PowerSchool. This year PTI's will be offered online and in person. If you are having issues booking your meetings, please contact the front office.

Some of our grade 6 students at CTK experienced a ‘Book Tasting’ activity in their Language Arts classes. …..and what is a book tasting you ask? A book tasting is a classroom activity when students sample books that are available in their classroom library. This activity encourages self-selection of independent reading books and motivates students to read. Looks amazing!
On Friday night, October 21st, the grade 8 girls volleyball team won gold!!!! The coaches, Miss.Pickett and Miss.Cockerill, are very proud of the way the girls played. They all worked hard as a team, covered the court, and played off the net! Congratulations!
The Trick or Trivia Committee is hard at work. We guarantee a great time! If you haven’t scooped up your tickets there is still time. Come to the school offices to purchase. Friday, October 28th from 7pm-12 am.

This month, CTK staff and students celebrated our custodians! Every morning when we arrive, we notice our bright and shiny school! We all know that our custodial staff work very hard all year to make sure our schools are kept clean and safe! A special thank you for all that you do! 💖

CTK students in grade 5A are learning about volunteerism in their Wellness Option. They will be holding a Fall Bake Sale on Wednesday, October 26. Please bring cash if you'd like to purchase some goodies and support the grade 5A students.
CTK Safety Patrol is back! A huge shout out to our grade 6 teams and Mr. Nelson. They have been busy patrolling the HFA crosswalk to help ensure safety.
