Parents of CTK Grade 7's are encouraged to fill out the Alberta Education Assurance Survey which will be coming to your mailboxes any day. Parents will be able to fill out the survey online with a random access code or return the paper copies to Alberta Education. Results of the survey provide important feedback to the province, the division, and our school. Please take a few minutes to respond. Deadline is March 3, 2023.

This coming Friday, February 10th. Dress in school colors and get ready to demonstrate your skills!

February's Fruit of the Holy Spirit is Mildness, also called meekness. Meekness is not weakness! It is the quality of being gentle and tender-hearted towards others, a quality Jesus displays. This week's Bible verse is: Jesus says,“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11: 28-29

Did you know January 25th marks Bell Let's Talk Day? A day to continue the work in breaking down the stigma of mental health support, which is something we are all passionate about. Bell Let’s Talk has a vision of a Canada where everyone can get the mental health support they need. This year is going to be different; Bell is not donating 5c per text or tweet, which they usually do - raising $8.5 million last year. Instead, they are donating a flat fee of $10 million going to a variety of mental health initiatives. Bell Let's Talk has a great website with some useful tools and resources. #EndTheStigma

Transportation Update: Dec. 22 6:30 am: Our school is open, however, in-town and rural buses will not run as it has been deemed too cold for students to wait at bus stops, particularly if the bus was to run late. Grade 8 students at CTK volunteered their time to help shovel snow! Sidewalks and steps were cleared for staff, students, and guests! Thanks so much for working together to make CTK a safe place! 😊

CTK staff and students will be busy in the next 4 days before the break! Dress warm for school and don't forget the last day is Thursday, December 22nd! There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, December 23rd!

Grade 5D students from Miss Vitamog's Wellness option will be holding a bake sale on Tuesday, December 20, at lunchtime. Students will have an opportunity to learn about and practice volunteering! Enjoy some baking and help support the Grade 5 fieldtrip fundraiser!

Mexican candy sales were up thanks to Mr.Burla an Ms.Sarmiento! On Tuesday, December 13, CTK students helped raise money for Mission Mexico and enjoyed some Mexican candy!

CTK Academy has been collecting food for St.Vincent dePaul. The food drive will continue until Friday, December 16th!

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022 CTK will participate in a diocese initiative to raise money for Mission Mexico. We invite students to wear a hat for a $2 donation and money will be collected in period 1. Also, Mexican candy will be for sale at recess. Each piece is $2.

During the Advent Season, students and staff have the opportunity to give to those in need! December 5-16, 2022, the St.Vincent de Paul food drive will be held at Christ the King Academy. CTK classrooms will be collecting non-perishable food items.

Two teams of Grade 6 girls and 1 team of Grade 6 Boys competed in the 7 Chiefs Sports Complex in Calgary on November 21st, 2022. Way to go CTK!!

On Thursday (December 1) and Friday (December 2) the grade 5 and 6 students participated in a NET retreat! Students and teachers joined the NET retreat leaders in some discussions, games, songs, and prayer! Students enjoyed their day, learning and growing in their faith, together with their friends! It was an amazing two days for both groups!
